The relevant provisions came fully into effect in April 2017 and the rights of individuals to apply for, and retain, both premises and personal licences are significantly impacted by the immigration status of the holder or applicant.

Employers of illegal workers can face very severe censure and the potential loss of their licence and a new system of illegal working closure notices and orders can instantly close licensed premises.
