Introduction

SEP litigation including FRAND licensing and related competition law issues has been a prevalent feature of global patent litigation for the past couple of decades.

Following on from the first instance and appeal decisions in Unwired Planet v Huawei, there has been a flurry of new SEP cases in the UK.

The FRAND trial in Optis v Apple was heard in the summer of 2022, and judgment is expected to be handed down shortly.

This new virtual classroom seminar will take a detailed look at that judgment, providing insights on the lessons to be learned for future FRAND cases.

The session will also draw upon developments from other cases, competition authorities and Standard Setting Organisations to provide an overall picture of the current landscape of FRAND litigation and what this all means for an increasingly connected world.
