The Leasehold Reform (Ground Rent) Act 2022 - In Force From 30 June

Introduction

The webinar will look at the background to the Leasehold Reform (Ground Rent) Act and problems caused by ground rents.

It will go through the Act, considering the approach adopted by Parliament of a peppercorn rent, the leases that are covered and those that are excluded, what constitutes a prohibited rent, and how this fits in with shared ownership and with re-grants of leases.

An important feature of the 2022 Act is that it makes provision for enforcement by local authorities and by leaseholders. We will look at both options.

The webinar will also cover amendments made to the legislation covering administration charges.
