Learn Live 1.5 UpdateInformation

Introduction

There is a statutory obligation to pay employees on time and accurately. Likewise, you have a statutory obligation to report this information to HMRC on time and accurately. Payroll software has a big part to play in this, taking much manual work away from professionals. Yet, payroll software cannot fulfil the statutory obligations if payroll professionals are not aware of them in the first place and some of the common mistakes that employers can make, all of which are within their control to avoid.

This virtual classroom session will explain the statutory obligations plus provide important ‘hints and tips’ for employers. For example, are you aware of the interactions with the Universal Credit and how the simple but accurate reporting of a date field in the Full Payment Submission (FPS) can help to avoid errors with this payment? Is there such a thing as filing the FPS too early and what are the common things that cause duplicate employments on HMRC’s systems?

What You Will Learn

This live and interactive session will cover the following:

  • The overriding statutory obligation to pay on time - as per employment law

  • Hints and tips for successful RTI submissions, meaning possible changes to practices and processes
