Course Outline
Introduction
This virtual classroom seminar will provide a summary of two complex consumer lending products: consumer buy-to-let (‘CBTL’) mortgages and bridging loans.
These products have become increasingly prominent since the introduction of the Mortgage Credit Directive (‘MCD’) regime in March 2016.
Both occupy an unusual position within the consumer finance landscape; they are specialised products, which straddle multiple statutory regimes.
Delegates attending this session will be provided with an understanding of what these products are and how they are regulated.
What You Will Learn
This live and interactive session will cover the following:
- Is your or your client’s loan a CBTL mortgage or bridging loan?
- If so, does the lender need to be authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority?
- What are the procedural/process obligations on lenders offering such products?
- What are the practical risks and benefits of making or taking such loans?
Recording of live sessions: Soon after the Learn Live session has taken place you will be able to go back and access the recording - should you wish to revisit the material discussed.
