Introduction

The Court of Protection has been seen by many as being required only for the appointment of a deputy, however, it has a much broader remit and a number of applications can be brought under it.

This new course will explain when the court can get involved and some of the more complex applications that can be brought within the same.

It will provide you with practical advice on the procedures and problems that have been faced in the past by practitioners, including recent case law on the subject to highlight the pitfalls.

This course will cover the following:

  • A reminder of the Court of Protection
  • How to make a statutory will application, and the pitfalls
  • Making applications for gifting and tax planning
  • How to remove a trustee
  • Equity release applications
